The colours refer to the sea and its infinite shades, the spaces are fluid, the furnishings are soft, the atmosphere is immersive. Water is the inspiring element of the project of this gourmet fish restaurant in Bucharest, an intimate but organic space, elegant but informal, for a project that pushes the boundaries of the gastronomic experience.
Not just a gourmet restaurant but an immersive experience in the marine world that involves all the senses thanks to an organic project in which everything has been designed down to the smallest detail. From volumes to fluid environments, from shiny surfaces to furnishings, from decorations to lighting which reproduces the infinite shades of water together with the colours.
Designed by Karim Rashid, Raionul de Pește is a fish restaurant in the heart of the Floreasca fishing district in Bucharest, which embodies the designer’s typical approach and best combines functional needs and the need to tell a successful culinary story .
The shapes are fluid, the motifs of water and waves draw the vertical and horizontal walls, define the paths, characterize the lights and furnishing accessories.
The kitchen is visible, the open spaces cross each other and develop seamlessly by integrating the fixed furnishings, the tables are grouped together in smaller and more intimate environments, almost like small bays that shelter diners from the open sea.

Environments connected to each other which can also be acoustically and visually isolated to ensure greater privacy for guests.
The VIP lounge, for example, is located behind a sliding screen that separates it from the cellar space, where the numerous labels are placed as in a coral reef set in the wall.
The cobalt blue, light blue and emerald green colours define a kaleidoscopic natural scenario, enhanced by metals, mirrors and reflective surfaces.
Sofas like ocean waves, lamps that recall giant jellyfish and then schools of fish, reflected fins, decorations and motifs for a coordinated image that unifies the architectural elements but also the graphics of the menus.
An engaging and inviting space, an atmosphere that allows you to better enjoy the gastronomic proposal and Mediterranean, Japanese and South American contaminations in a lively and innovative environment that expresses positivity at any time of the day.
Two diametrically opposed conical volumes that meet in the centre and connect in a fluid way to create a single volume obtained by working the metal with advanced technologies. Fluke is a handle with a light, dynamic image that fits well into spaces and environments with soft lines. The organic and contemporary shape of the handle ensures a secure grasp in the central part of the grip, while the polished or satin chrome finishes allow it to dialogue with the other compositional elements of the space.
The designer
Spaces defined by sinuous lines, soft shapes, curved trajectories, colourful, dynamic, lively environments, characterized by unprecedented chromatic combinations that express an immediately recognizable distinctive trait. Karim Rashid‘s approach is expressed in the pop language that he applies to all scales of the project.
From over 4000 design objects that bear his signature to architecture, to the interior design of hotels, restaurants, shops, public or private places. The bright tones, the shiny surfaces, the sparkling atmospheres express an ironic and fun style, but the result of a rigorous working method attentive to the smallest details.
