Achille Castiglioni (Milan 1918-2002), architect and designer, one of the great masters of Italian design, won the Compasso d’Oro award nine times. He worked in the fields of architecture, urban planning and industrial design.
His many famous creations include the “Mezzadro” and “Sella” seats (1957), the “Sanluca” armchair (1959), the “Luminator” (1955) and “Arco” (1962) floor lamps, the “Taccia” table lamp (1962). His works are included in the permanent collections of the world’s leading design museums, from MoMA New York to Triennale di Milano.
