“Ca’ Nichetto” project

by Luca Nichetto

The Venetian apartment of designer Luca Nichetto is located inside a late 15th-century building. Furnishings from international brands and his own creations engage in a dialogue within what is certainly a successful experiment.

What is a designer’s home like?

There are two Venices. One is filled with crowded streets, bright shop windows, and standardized products; the other Venice more closely resembles its original, authentic soul, buzzing with inimitable creativity.

In Cannaregio, “where there are still Venetians,” Ca’ Nichetto was realized. Luca Nichetto chose this space as a creative refuge, a place to live and work, welcoming friends and colleagues.

The design of the two-level apartment respected the authenticity of the structure, enhancing its natural light and the simplicity of its 15th-century geometries.

The interior style reflects a contemporary sensibility rooted in history: the furnishings create a dialogue between design icons and pieces by Nichetto himself. In this context, the Viva! handle, designed by Luca for Dnd, fits in naturally: its ergonomics and fluid lines maintain consistency with the visual harmony of the flat.

Viva! combines ergonomics and visual sobriety: soft or bold lines depending on the observation angle and grip. A tactile sensation that is tangible and enveloping in the palm of the hand. Like the lagoon city, Viva! reveals different and even contrasting  sides, constantly evoking new sensations.
