An artistic interpretation of Total Look by Leonardo Sonnoli

To express its approach to contemporary design, Dnd has once again chosen to rely on the vision of Leonardo Sonnoli, one of the most prominent contemporary Italian graphic designers.

The result is a series of four visual compositions accompanying “Leva” by Park Associati, “Timeless” by Marco Pisati, “Anik” by Gabriele & Oscar Buratti, and “Zeppelin” by Jaime Hayon—iconic handles for the company led by Vilma Martinelli together with her children Pietro and Simona. The images created by Sonnoli interpret the concept of Total Look, transforming the communication of the system into a true visual language by an author, featured in leading architecture and design magazines.
Sonnoli’s work draws inspiration from the metaphysical art of the early 20th century, reinterpreted through a contemporary graphic sensibility.
Silent architectures, suspended volumes, sharp shadows, and essential geometries construct timeless environments, where the handle becomes the absolute protagonist—an object charged with meaning and formal tension. Alongside it, the mirror appears as a presence capable of suggesting an alternative reality. Similarly, Total Look offers a new perspective that questions ordinary perception, aiming to go beyond conventional aesthetic standards for handles and locks.
This dialogue between graphics and design fully reflects the identity of Dnd, which has always been oriented toward going beyond the object’s purely technical function to explore its expressive power. The visual compositions center around the concept of Total Look, Dnd’s design approach in which handle and lock engage in a new dialogue, defining a coordinated and precise aesthetic for interior architecture.

This ensemble project between company and designer manages to explore the boundaries between art, graphics, and industrial design—and perhaps even go beyond, offering a new vision.
